Classroom management practices: Indonesian secondary schools teachers’ perceptions

The present study aims to investigate the Indonesian secondary school teachers' perspectives of practicing their classroom management create a conducive environment for learning. This research method is qualitative study, which able explore participants regarding understanding and experience in managing classrooms this were two teachers who taught urban rural area. After negotiating with headmaster, recruited under purposive sampling approach gave consent participate study. In data collected through one-to-one interviews analyzed using thematic analysis. Employing Garwood Harris (2020) five parameters, themes resulted each parameter. recognizing students' names paying attention attitudes intelligence. They also tried have good appearance, performance, attitude as well make games. Regarding consequence breaking rules, teacher area applied academic punishments such memorizing vocabularies; while, one preferred provide social taking out trash from classrooms. Furthermore, did not involve students class but made them individually or privately. Finally, both informed procedures teachings. findings implied that should be understood practiced properly appropriately attempts could maintain learning atmosphere.
